Presented with Elijah's Journey

Shaare Zedek is pleased to be a host site for Elijah's Journey's Shabbat of Programming, held on the eve of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention's (AFSP) Overnight Walk in New York City.

This evening program will feature words of Torah on the theme of suicide prevention from mental health activist Sarah Robinson, a student in the Graduate Program for Advanced Talmudic Studies at Yeshiva University, and an Elijah's Journey 2015-16 Fellow. Sarah's class will be followed by Shaare Zedek's Shabbat mincha service and then seudah shlishit, sponsored by Elijah's Journey and featuring a drasha by Elijah's Journey founder, Efrem Epstein. The evening will conclude with ma'ariv and havdalah. All community members are welcome.

Elijah's Journey is a nonprofit organization founded by Shaare Zedek member Efrem Epstein that serves as a resource and platform for suicide awareness and prevention in the Jewish community. If you would like to join the Elijah's Journey team for the overnight walk, or if you would like to sponsor the team, please visit their team webpage.
